Company overview
FOX is deeply committed to providing aid where it is needed most - in the communities where its employees and viewers live and work. Through its FOX Forward initiative, employees unite around service pillars like disaster relief, while viewers across all platforms consistently respond to on-air calls to action that fuel the mission’s scale. By partnering with Benevity, FOX has transformed its giving culture into a streamlined, purpose-driven movement that responds to crises with speed, heart and transparency.
The challenge
In the summer of 2025, Kerr County, Texas, was hit by devastating flash floods. The rising waters didn’t just damage property; they claimed lives and wiped out the livelihoods of families in Central Texas. Continuing a legacy of disaster relief, FOX immediately engaged its audience with a critical call to action.
While FOX maintains longstanding partnerships with major national disaster relief organizations, this local emergency fell outside those partners’ immediate response scope. Needing a trusted way to mobilize rapid support on the ground, FOX turned to Benevity - relying on its rigorous nonprofit validation and enterprise-grade giving capabilities to move quickly and confidently.
The solution
Before the floodwaters even receded, the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country was already assessing the road to recovery. Executive Director Austin Dickson knew the foundation needed a way to scale its local expertise to a national audience. By utilizing the Benevity Causes Portal, they established the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund - providing a centralized, secure destination for donations.
Benevity’s nonprofit due diligence process validates and verifies every one of the 2.5 million+ organizations on the platform and continually checks to ensure fraud, regulatory and reputational risk are minimized. With the Community Foundation as part of Benevity’s global network of validated nonprofits, the team at FOX could quickly identify a trusted recipient for this program, assured that donors from across the country could give with confidence. This created a powerful bridge between global generosity and locally led impact, enabling support to flow quickly, securely and where it was needed most.
FOX acted just as quickly. Leveraging the Community Impact Portal, they launched a dedicated campaign amplified across all their platforms including FOX News Channel, FOX Sports, FOX Entertainment and FOX Television Stations across the nation. By integrating a QR code into their broadcasts and on social media, they drove their audiences to give directly to the local relief fund.
The results
The results of this collaboration were staggering. Thanks to the generosity of viewers and the efficiency of the Benevity platform, over $7 million was raised in just one week.
These funds were deployed by the Community Foundation to:
- Provide emergency housing grants for families whose homes were uninsured or under-insured.
- Restore local small businesses that serve as the backbone of the Kerr County economy.
- Fund long-term infrastructure repairs to mitigate future flood risks in the Hill Country.
Following the Kerr County floods, the Community Foundation raised $15.7 million through the Benevity platform. This surge in support propelled the foundation up 56,381 positions and into the Top 5 Causes on the Benevity platform in 2025, reflecting a US giving trend for the year towards local disaster response.
Partnership highlights
The success of the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund demonstrates that the Benevity Enterprise Impact Platform is more than just a tool - it is a link between corporations with massive reach and nonprofits with deep local roots. For FOX, it simplified risk and compliance during a high-pressure moment. For the Community Foundation, it provided the scale needed to serve a community.
Most importantly, the impact is being felt daily by the residents of Kerr County, ensuring that families have safe homes to return to and the spirit of the Texas Hill Country remains resilient.
