Justine Tabarin is the Global CSR Manager at Criteo. After a few years of experience in global communications and media, she joined Criteo to combine her project management skills with her interest in social and environmental issues. For the past 3 years, she has been leading sustainability and CSR issues and the company’s global employee volunteer programme – including 7 community groups (ERGs). 

Programme Mission

At Criteo, the company focuses their ERGs on various topics such as gender equality, disability, education, the LGBTQI community, missing families, climate change, and the environment, each of which is led by one or more members of their leadership team. And altogether, they support all teams within the company to achieve more sustainable and ethical initiatives to offset the impact of the business on the planet and our people.

The company has always seen Earth Day as a celebration and have commemorated this awareness day for the past few years. The main benefit for Criteo is that it allows their teams to raise awareness about the impact of the digital industry on the planet.

Celebrating this event helps the company, helps Criteo, present to employees the efforts and commitments we, as a company, are making to address climate change.

Justine Tabarin – Global Corporate Social Responsibility Manager

To do this, their team has organised a number of different projects to raise awareness about climate change and the impact all companies and citizens have on the planet.

A few examples include:

  • Inviting a reform assertion specialists – a company that develops recycled and recyclable clothing – to present their work to the team
  • Featuring climate activists such as Dominic Palmer and Daphne Frias to talk about their commitment to the planet
  • Organising an internal Fireside Chat with the executive team to share their “green vision” or their own personal commitment and set an example for the rest of the company

In addition to these educational sessions, Criteo also organised company clean-ups in eight major cities: London, Paris, Barcelona, Munich, Singapore, and three cities in the US. With several hundred participants, it was clear that their employees are inspired to get out and engage with team members, particuarly in support of the sensitive topic of climate change.

And in terms of goals, team building is important - Justine mentions that their people are very happy to meet together in person, away from the screens. And secondly, Criteo wants to see more and more employees getting involved with community being aware of the challenges that the community faces when it comes to climate change.
