The challenge
The limitations of DPR Construction's (DPR) existing makeshift ERG management solution underscored the need for a more tailored and effective system. Before implementing Benevity Affinity Groups, DPR’s program didn’t have a formal structure, a centralized space, or a systematic approach — employees were relying on word-of-mouth interactions to gain membership and communicate about their ERG initiatives.
The solution
Lay the foundation
DPR leveraged Benevity’s content, cutting-edge reports and best practices to help create the foundation for their ERG program strategy and impactful diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
Execute efficiently
With the Benevity Affinity Groups platform to call home, and support from our ERG experts, DPR was able to introduce a structured, measureable approach to their program. Now, they had the right tools to boost ERG effectiveness, drive company-wide engagement and enhance local and regional participation.
Design for impact
Must-have features like reporting, and event management tools like surveys, polls and quizzes, empowered ERGs to create even more impact that DPR could truly measure. Plus, having a dedicated space for ERGs that everyone could access, including craft employees, ensured fair participation opportunities.
The result
DPR’s ERG program saw substantial growth in just six months after launching with Benevity Affinity Groups:
- A 77% increase in activated1 member growth (316 to 560)
- A 90% increase in total ERG membership2 (357 to 678)
- A 87.5% growth in the number of active ERGs (1 to 8)
2Total ERG membership: This refers to the combined count of all members and leaders across all ERGs. Note that this figure does not include users who have an Affinity Groups account but have not yet joined any ERG.
