Rahman Khan

Rahman Khan serves as Group Vice President of Community Impact for Spectrum (aka Charter Communications), leading its strategic philanthropic and employee engagement programs. In this role, he develops and executes the company’s mission to improve communities. He led the launch of Charter’s signature philanthropic program, Spectrum Community Center Assist, a $30 million effort to revitalize local community centers and invest in job skills training programs. Through this program, Rahman is spearheading work to create 100 Spectrum Training and Technology classrooms at the centers in urban and rural communities, helping those organizations gain seamless connectivity with complimentary 1-gig of internet service.

Rahman also led the development of another program, Spectrum Digital Education, supporting nonprofits that use connectivity to enhance the lives of community members through skills training and access to technology. To date, $11M has been allocated to nonprofits, helping to create more than 40,000 digital education classes and distribute more than 18,000 digital devices such as laptops and Chromebooks. 

Before joining Spectrum, Rahman served in several community investment, diversity and inclusion, and strategy roles at Time Warner Cable, Compass Group and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. As an entrepreneur, he also created and hosted the talk show “GoodWorks with Rahman Khan” on PBS station WTVI.

Rahman received his business and graduate education degrees from Florida A&M University, where he also joined Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. In addition, he is a graduate of NAMIC’s Executive Leadership Development Program at the University of Virginia. Currently, he serves on the board of the Association of Corporate Citizenship Professionals (ACCP).

Rahman is a sought-after speaker, program host and facilitator, and has received numerous honors including being recognized as one of the most influential diverse leaders in the industry by CableFax magazine.
