CALGARY, AB – July 20, 2020 – Benevity, Inc., the leading provider of global corporate purpose software, today announced Kelly Schmitt as President and Chief Financial Officer effective July 1, 2020. In this role, Kelly will lead Benevity’s Client Success, Sales, Marketing, Finance and Operations functions, in addition to continuing to drive strategic initiatives that enhance the company’s industry-leading systems and processes.

“Kelly is an exemplary leader and has been an exceptional business partner for me since joining the company almost two years ago,” said Bryan de Lottinville, Benevity Founder and Chairperson. “She has been integral to building and maintaining trust with Benevity’s clients and causes, while helping us to evolve the scale and efficiency we have strived to bring to our sector over the last 12 years.”

Since joining Benevity in October 2018, Kelly has introduced a new reconciliation function dedicated to helping companies and their people better manage their donation funds, increased investment in Benevity’s already rigorous cause vetting and anti-fraud programs, helped to secure the company’s Series C funding and played an instrumental role in business continuity efforts during the global pandemic. Her efforts underscore Benevity’s ongoing commitment to support corporate clients and their people, along with nonprofits, and further the company’s enterprise-level security and compliance, cause vetting, donation management and disbursement processes and international capabilities.

“I am excited at the opportunity to expand my reach and impact at Benevity, a truly unique company where the people, culture and social mission empower you to be the best version of yourself each day,” said Kelly Schmitt, Benevity President and CFO. “Employees, customers and communities around the world are looking to companies to help solve some of the most critical social and environmental issues. It is a privilege to support Benevity and our committed community of client companies in achieving all that is possible.”

Benevity has been focused on building its technology leadership team with the addition of CTO Steven Woods in June, VP Product Grant Bryce in December 2019, and VP Engineering John Mortimer in September 2019. Bryan de Lottinville will continue as Founder and Executive Chairperson, leading the Technology and People functions and working with Kelly in her new role as President.
