New Partnership Provides Multinational Companies with Expanded Access to Over 2 Million Vetted Charities

CALGARY, AB and SAN FRANCISCO, CA – March 31, 2016 – Benevity, Inc., the global leader in online workplace giving, matching, volunteering and grant management solutions, today announced a formal partnership with TechSoup Global, the leading online platform connecting validated nonprofits to in-kind technology and philanthropic resources at scale.

The alliance of two very successful social enterprises—Benevity, a certified B Corporation and TechSoup, a 501c3 nonprofit with a global partner network—will enable corporate and individual donors to give money or time to over 2 million vetted charities through company giving programs. Benevity and TechSoup are combining their market leadership and a shared ethos for enhancing the global ecosystem of giving, volunteering and grant-making to improve the quality, efficiency and geographic reach of corporate responsibility or “Goodness” programs.

Benevity’s award-winning SaaS product, Spark, powers some of the world’s most notable corporate and employee giving programs, the vast majority of which are international in scope. Benevity’s platform is already recognized as the most comprehensive international solution available. It is available in 15 languages and seven currencies and represents in excess of 3 million employee users from 200 corporate clients. TechSoup administers the in-kind and charity focused technology programs of more than 100 corporate partners and since 2001 has distributed more than 16.3 million technology products with a combined retail value of more than US$5.5 billion to validated nonprofits in 236 countries and territories. As part of its e-commerce enabled platform for donated and discounted technology, all of these recipient charities and NGOs have been vetted and validated against legal, regulatory and corporate eligibility requirements by TechSoup and its international partner NGO network.

““Joining forces to provide a more complete international giving solution to an exceptional network of companies is an exciting step in helping to further our mission to strengthen nonprofit organizations worldwide.”

— Rebecca Masisak, CEO, TechSoup Global

“Multinational companies need better ways to meet the expectations of more global and diverse workforces,” said Benevity CEO Bryan de Lottinville. “As companies embrace employee engagement as a key goal of their corporate giving initiatives, these programs must be truly global in scope and compliant with corporate risk management practices. Our ecosystem strategy provides a legally compliant, culturally relevant, common user experience that enables users and companies to easily find causes across all geographies to give their time, money, product and talent.” Benevity already supported more than 1.5 million organizations through its donation processing platform and the Benevity Causes Portal (causes.benevity.org). With the addition of the NGOs that have been validated by TechSoup Global and NGOsource, corporate and individual users of Benevity’s software and API suite will have access to an additional 710,000 vetted international charities spanning 236 countries—bringing the total to well over 2 million eligible causes. TechSoup will also provide vetting and validation services to add additional charitable organizations that are not already in the database as they are requested by users in countries outside of Benevity’s existing focus areas. “Joining forces to provide a more complete international giving solution to an exceptional network of companies is an exciting step in helping to further our mission to strengthen nonprofit organizations worldwide," said Rebecca Masisak, CEO of TechSoup Global. “With the Benevity partnership, we can help connect those working on a broad array of locally and globally relevant causes to be more visible to the extraordinary giving community that corporations and their employees and customers represent.” About Benevity Benevity, Inc., a certified B Corporation, is the global leader in online workplace giving, matching, volunteering and granting programs.
