We decided to organize the first field volunteering activity at Glovo to offer an opportunity for our colleagues to do good beyond the walls of Glovo, while connecting with other teammates and gathering in small groups to share experiences. Benevity helped a lot by connecting us with nonprofits and getting specific information and details on the volunteering activities that were necessary for us to then plan the whole Global Volunteering Week.

To serve their corporate mission of providing access to essential goods to everyone, Glovo proposed a Global Volunteer Week centered around lending support to local food banks. This would give employees the opportunity to contribute their time to a meaningful cause that is close to the company’s core business, developing and managing a technological platform that allows local stores and restaurants to sell to users in cities.

Glovo’s main challenges were to:

  1. Organize a global event that would simultaneously take place across nine different locations.
  2. Connect with nonprofits related to their core business within their desired regions without being on the ground in each area.
  3. Boost employee participation in each location of the program despite a remote working environment.

The Solution?

With the help of Benevity’s database of international nonprofits, Glovo was able to connect with food banks in their desired regions, retrieving the necessary details on each volunteering activity that were crucial for executing their Global Volunteering Week.

Benevity’s support in organizing our Global Volunteering Week in September was crucial to our success. Benevity’s team has always been proactive and committed to Glovo’s volunteering program, especially with this initiative. Thanks for all the support!
